Review: Great guide for critical thinking and vocab skill building - but.... : As a 4th/5th grade teacher, I ordered this because I liked what I saw when I previewed several pages on Amazon. Upon receiving the composition yesterday, I am happy with the depth of questioning and context clue strategies. My only surprise is the use of the Messiah theme by asking students to look up verses in the Bible and relate them to the story. While I have read this book recently and totally agree that there is almost a perfect parallel, I have to remove those questions throughout since I'm using it in public school. Once I do that, I believe it will be a great tool.
