Review: More appropriate for 5-6 year olds and up : I bought this book for my almost 5-year old coloring fanatic, based on Amazon's age-rating of 4-8, but I'd rate it more appropriate for at least 5 or 6 year olds. The story is too advanced and detailed to hold my daughter's interest, even though she loves the story of Black Beauty. The pictures are smaller and more intricate than I'd like, most covering just portions of pages rather than full pages (although there are some full-page pictures), but she still enjoys coloring them. Since she loves the story, she was very excited to have the book; though it's slightly frustrating for her sometimes, she brings it out often and keeps trying - at least she'll have it for years to come!
