Review: A Child's Treasure of a Great American Leader : This is one of my favorite books for children. Although some parts are fabricated for the interest of the story, as conversations, what a person thinks, and perhaps some of the events. But overall it is heavily based on the life story of William Bradford. I read it aloud to my children when they were younger, and enjoyed it myself. William Bradford is one of the most honorable men in United States History, and served as Governor of Plymouth Colony for thirty years. Young William had so many disadvantages growing up, he struggled hard to get an education, overcame a difficult chldhood, and emerged a man of integrity and honor. We need his story for our day.
