Review: phonics without the "program" : This is the best book I have come across for teaching a young child to read. I have used this book with three children, all at various ability levels. It is organized in an easy to use manner with clear instructions. This book allows the parent (or anyone) to sit with the child rather than instruct the child in a workbook. I would also recommend this book for anyone with an elementary age child that needs review, or who has reading difficulties. The progression allows for review as necessary.
