Review: From Alphabet to Zoo : Scenes from home, farm, zoo, park, town, school, store and shore provide many and varied settings to learn and practice more than five hundred practical French words. The line drawings look like an invitation to a crayon, but coloring the pages would obscure many of the words. With my minimal French, I find it difficult in some cases to tell which part of a scene a particular word belongs to. I should say, though, that there is a complete glossary. A pronunciation guide would be very helpful. I think this book would be most easily used for a child's language learning when the adult "helper" knows French already.
