Review: Effective . . . but boring : I used Alpha-Phonics to teach my daughter to read. It was effective, she is an excellent reader and I do think that Alpha-Phonics gave her a strong foundation. We both grew to dread the time we would sit down to use it. I am not using it for my second daughter, we will try the "Teach Your Child To Read in 100 Easy Lessons" instead as it came highly recommended. If that doesn't work, I would return to Alpha-Phonics because I know it works . . . but I won't be excited about it.
