Review: Day Dream Believer: Mr. Popper must be the original day dream believer and in his case it paid off! I loved reading about the Poppers and their family. The penguin show and antics were delightful, right down to the snow in the living room....well why not!? There is a family in Japan that rescued a penguin from a fisherman's net over a decade ago and the penguin has remained living in the family's home. I can see why teachers might want to use this book in their classes to teach a bit about geography and natural history. The children would be engaged with the entertaining story and learning at the same time. Who wouldn't want a penguin around?! They are polite and good natured. Another excellent chapter book about a penguin living with humans is[[ASIN:0977422704 The Many Adventures of Pengey Penguin]]. Both books teach valuble life lessons in an entertaining manner.
